There is no way of telling exactly when these cuffs were made as most cowboys around the turn-of-the-century made their own cuffs out of old harness leather. We are estimating these cuffs to be around that time due to the lace in the back and the "worn" buttons. Cowboys have worn leather cuffs for generations to protect their wrists, forearms, and shirtsleeves from injury or damage caused by ropes, branding irons, brush, wire fencing, and other hazards inherent to their lifestyle. They are worn today for the same reasons, or as a part of "cowboy dress" when participating in re-enactments or cowboy shooting events. Highly collectable and stil usable, these would be pefect for someone looking to have authentic cowboy attire. $250 |
